Please Pray!!> Some of you have probably heard already, but I have to go to the hospital > in Denver to finish out my pregnancy. There are some major > complications.. I have included the letter my husband wrote to our > friends and family so that I wouldn't have to type everything again. I > will miss all of you (and even the kids) and truly need your prayers. > Please read the following letter as it will explain all in detail what is > going on...and for those of you who will join us in prayer. We need it! > I hope to see you all again soon! - Katie > > Hello Everyone, > > As many of you have already heard, Katie and I are pregnant, expecting > our first child. It has been a very rocky road over the last 4 months as > we have had several complications and Katie has even been on bed rest a > couple of times already. Starting in November we finally received good > news when the doctors told us we would probably carry the baby to > full-term. Last Tuesday, we went in for a routine ultrasound and things > suddenly changed. We were taken to the hospital Tuesday night were tests > were performed on Katie and then went to Denver the next day for > Appointments with specialists down there. The doctor who did the > ultrasound encouraged us to terminate pregnancy so we needed a second > opinion. > We met with a great doctor from Presbyterian St. Luke's Children's > hospital who finally gave us some hope. He said there is definitely no > amniotic fluid around the baby and it is very scary and the chances of a > healthy baby or baby at all are not good. The amniotic fluid is what > develops the lungs and right now there is no sign of lungs. They usually > develop around 18-24 weeks and Katie is at 22 weeks now. They suspect her > "Water" broke (the amniotic fluid) about 3-4 weeks ago, which is right > when the lungs would have started to develop. However, the baby is > healthy right now and he said, there is a chance. We told him we believe > in a God of more than just chances, but one who is capable of miracles and > he said that is what it would take! Katie will be admitted to the > hospital in Denver on January 4th for 10 weeks. There will be a monitor > on her and the baby to make sure they both stay stable. If anything goes > wrong they will immediately do a c-section. Usually the body goes into > labor within 48 hours after the water breaks. This has not happened for > the last 4 weeks and we are praying it doesn't for another 12 weeks. > > So, right now I am asking you to pray! Pray like it is going to > happen, not like it might! With no amniotic fluid around the baby there > is high risk of infection for both the baby and Katie. This is my #1 > prayer request!!! With everything that has gone on, the doctors think we > are having a little girl. We have decided to call her Faith!, which is > what it takes right now! > > If you will pray, please pray in this order: > > 1. No infection for Katie or baby Faith! > > 2. Faith's lungs develop and she continues to produce Amniotic fluid so > her kidney's don't shut down. > > 3. Katie does not go into Labor for at least 12 more weeks, so Faith will > continue to grow and develop. > > 4. Patience and faith for us as we pray and wait for the next 12 weeks. > > Thank you for joining with us as we take this baby and my wife before the > Lord. Will you join us in praying with authority, faith and great > confidence! > > God bless you so much, > > Pastor Charley, Katie, and baby Faith. >
